Kansas didn’t try to outlaw abortion this time, just abortion providers.

Kansas recently passed a law that would have effectively shut down two of Kansas’ three (yes, it only has three in the entire state) abortion providers.

The new law requires hospitals, clinics and doctor’s offices to obtain an annual license from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to perform more than five non-emergency abortions in a month. The regulations tell abortion providers what drugs and equipment they must stock and, among other things, establish minimum sizes and acceptable temperatures for procedure and recovery rooms.

The new rules are so specific that they also included minimum dimensions for janitors’ closets.  Thankfully, a Federal judge stepped in to block the law.  Just so we don’t forget who is passing these laws, it’s people like this guy, who said women should plan for rape pregnancies just like he plans ahead by keeping a spare tire in his car.
